Shop Australia’s Summer Trifle
This basic summer trifle recipe can also be made with your favourite liqueur, port, sherry or alcohol free. Serves approximately 8-10
Ingredients
• 1 x large sponge cake
• 2 x cans mixed fruit
• 210g mixed berries fresh/frozen
• ½ cup Hula pineapple and coconut or Dew Drops melon lime and bitters
• 1 cup Madori melon liquor
• 600mls Vanilla custard
• 1 small bottle of cream
• 1 tablespoon of icing sugar
• Cake sprinkles
Method
- Layer the bottom of your serving dish with pieces of sponge cake then a layer of mixed Fruit. Pour over Hula or Dew drops soda to moisten sponge then add cold custard and Berries. Repeat these steps until you are close to the top of your serving dish (approx 5cm from rim).
- Pour 1 cup of madori melon liqueur evenly around the top.
- Add 1 tablespoon of icing sugar to cream and beat until just thickened.
- Spread cream evenly over top of your trifle and finish with cake sprinkles. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
